Melbourne, Nov 20: An eight-month pregnant woman and her unborn baby died in an accident in Sydney, Australia.

The deceased woman is Samanvita Dhareshwar (33). The road accident occurred at around 8 pm last night when Samanvita was crossing the road near George St., Hornsby, with her husband and 3-year-old son. The accident occurred just a few weeks before her delivery.

The accident took place at around 8 pm on George Street in Hornsby. Samanvita and her family were standing on the footpath to cross the road, when a BMW car coming from behind hit a Kia Carnival car that was moving slowly in front. As a result, the Kia car swerved forward and hit Samanvita, who was crossing the road.

Samanvita suffered serious injuries in the horrific accident. She was immediately taken to Westmead Hospital. Unfortunately, Samanvita and her unborn baby could not be saved, police said.
The BMW was reportedly driven by 19-year-old Aaron Papazoglu. He was a 'P-plater', meaning he had a provisional or probationary licence. The 19-year-old driving the BMW and the 48-year-old driving the Kia were not injured.
