Bengaluru: The cold has increased in Silicon City Bengaluru for the last two weeks. The extreme cold has increased the fear of spreading viral flu along with infectious diseases, including cold-like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARI) among the people of Silicon City.

Increase in Sari, ILI cases
The continuous increase in Sari, ILI cases and viral flu in the state for the last one week has caused concern. In the last one week, 133 Sari, 21 ILI and 3052 Acute Diarrheal Disease positive cases have been found in the state. Therefore, the Health Department is keeping a close eye on ILI and Sari cases. Guidelines have also been given to test infected cases.
Respiratory problems have increased due to winter. The Health Department is taking steps to monitor those on self-medication. The Health Department has instructed to pay attention to ILI and SARI cases and has instructed to test at least 5% of ILI cases and 100% of SARI cases every day.
It has been advised to keep appropriate testing kits in all laboratories in the state. Children, the elderly, pregnant women, and those dependent on medication are at high risk. Therefore, it has been advised to self-medicate. Health personnel have been told to monitor ILI and SARI cases. It has been advised to monitor and report those with problems and to monitor the preparation of necessary treatments to respond to emergency treatment.
Seasonal Flu Fear
There is a fear of seasonal flu in the state due to winter and if its main symptoms are fever, cough, red rash, loss of appetite, muscle pain, chills, dry cough, it is better to visit the hospital. Pregnant women and high-risk patients have been warned to get appropriate vaccination.
In the backdrop of the changing weather conditions in Bengaluru along with the cold, doctors have advised people to pay attention to their health. They have advised people to avoid outside food, oily snacks and excessive sweets and to focus more on home-cooked meals. Overall, the doctors advise that people should maintain cleanliness, drink hot water and eat healthy food until the winter is over.
