Vijayapur: Jal Biradari members present during an awareness program conducted by the department of tourism at the summer pavilions of Kumatgi. Celebrating the auspicious day as world rivers day (26th September) & world tourism day (27th September)
The deputy commissioner speaking on the occasion addressed the citizens to be self-motivated in making Vijayapur city best for the tourists in all ways.He then appreciated members of JalBiradri NGO for being in the front line always. “I have observed there is lack of motivation in the people of Vijayapur especially regarding the cleanliness and boosting of tourism. Whereas these are one among the key factors we have to focus together when we make any efforts to develop a historical city like Vijayapur, I urge the citizens to actively take various initiatives and also congratulate JalBiradari members for their volunteer efforts” said DC P Sunil Kumar.
Receiving the memorandum addressed about tourism issues faced in Vijayapur city which also highlighted the importance to spread awareness about global challenges outlined in the 2030 agenda for sustainable development with a goal to achieve sustainable program for Vijayapur tourism. Peter Alexander (President JalBiradari) said “Bijapur sultanate during the reign of Adil Shahi’s was an epitome of water works and its conservation. The travelers across the world visited to witness the awe-inspiring structures by the Adil Shahi’s and their miraculous ability to control water. Such grandeur of the dynasty by dismay is left to the fate of nature.”
On this occasion Municipal Commissioner, Department of Tourism, Vishwanath Siddhanti, Ameenuddin Hullur, Mubarak Walikar & many were present.
