Mangaluru : The Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS), a leading institution dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Konkani culture, has released the schedule for its annual cultural competitions. This year’s events will take place from Sunday, July 7 to Sunday, September 14 at Don Bosco Hall in Mangaluru.
Celebrating the 61st edition of its singing competition and the 23rd year of its poetry recitation and dance contests, KNS continues its long-standing mission of fostering talent and celebrating Konkani traditions. This year’s lineup will also include popular newer categories such as Voviyo-Verse and Gumta Podam, which have garnered significant interest in recent years.
Open to all age groups—children, youth, and adults—the competitions will commence with poetry recitation on July 7 and conclude with the grand finale of the singing contests on September 14.
For decades, Konkani Natak Sabha has been a cornerstone of the local cultural scene, with many notable singers, dancers, and performers beginning their careers on its stage. The prize distribution ceremony, a highlight of the festival, is known for its vibrant atmosphere and strong community turnout at Don Bosco Hall.
Following two successful editions in Mumbai and Udupi, this year all events return to Mangaluru, bringing back memories of the Sabha’s illustrious past.
Participants can enter as individuals or in groups. Entry forms are available at the KNS office and Don Bosco Hall, Mangaluru. For further details, contact the organisers at 8660148257.
