Kumbla : Canara Organization for Development & Peace® organized an awareness programme on mosquito-borne diseases and also distribution of mosquito nets to people of Kuntigeradka area at CODP Extension office, Kumbla. Mamatha, President of Samrudi Mahasangha welcomed the dignitaries on the dais and the participants.
Rev. Fr Rockwin Pinto, Professor of St Joseph Seminary, Jeppu in his speech, explained that we should spread awareness about the life endangering viral diseases like Dengue and Malaria spreading through stagnant water especially during rainy season. After his message, he distributed mosquito nets to poor and needy people of Kuntigeradka village in Kumbla.
Rev. Fr Oswald Monteiro, Director of CODP said that “Health is Wealth.” If health is lost something is lost. Therefore we have to protect our health. Using mosquito nets is one of the measures to avoid mosquito borne diseases. It is better to take precautions than treatment.
