Mangaluru: Before working for a language, those who work in it must first understand and cooperate with each other with love. Otherwise, like isolated islands adrift in water without a boat to unite them, all efforts will be in vain, said Titus Noronha, Vice President of the All India Konkani Parishad (Goa) and founder of Rahul Advertising Agency.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the executive committee and Konkani leaders meeting organized by the Konkani Bhasha Mandal Karnataka(R) (KBMK).
Prashanth Shet, invited member of the KBMK Executive Committee and owner of S.L. Shet Diamond Jewellers, said that if we take the first step toward harmony, problems can be solved much faster.
Melwyn Rodrigues, Convener of the Central Government Advisory Committee for Konkani, said that he has many fond memories of working as joint secretary, secretary, and helping the people of the convention. He added that KBMK Karnataka is one of the most prominent Konkani organizations, deserving of full government support.
Henry Mendonca shared information about the upcoming All India Konkani Conference to be held in Kerala on November 22 and 23.
Senior Member and invited member of KBMK Executive Committee Geetha Kini spoke, saying, “I have held all the positions. I have served this association just as I have served my own mother.”
The meeting was presided over by K. Vasanth Rao, who offered his best wishes.
Members of KBMK committee included Meenakshi Pai, Prasad Chandra Shenai, Juliet Fernandes, Shanti Veronica, Adolph D’Souza, Zeena Fernandes, Suresh Shenai, and Lawrence Pinto.
Konkani leaders such as Mandd Sobhann President Louis Pinto, Daiji Dubai Mangalore President Praveen Tauro, and Daijiworld Production Head Stany Bela were also present.
The program began with a welcome by Raymond D’Cunha, a vote of thanks by Liston D’Souza, and was compered by Jeshma D’Souza.
