Mangalore: Epitome 2020–The inauguration of 20th Edition of the National Level IT & Engineering fest was held at the School of Information Technology & Bioinformatics, Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology, St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Beeri, Mangalore. The program was inaugurated on the 12th March 2020, for a two-day run, scheduled in line with conducting a variety of events. Dikshith Rai, Founder and CEO of CodeCraft Technologies, Mangaluru was the chief guest of the program. Rev Fr. Dionysius Vas SJ - Rector of St. Aloysius College, presided over the program. Rev Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ, Director of AIMIT, Prof. Santhosh Rebello, Dean of I.T Dept., the faculty co-ordinators, Ms. Laveena Crasta and Mr. C.G. Thomas and the student co-ordinators Ms. Riona Fernandes and Mr. Royston Rodrigues were present on the dais.
The program was started with invoking the presence of Almighty by College Choir. The trailer of the fest, EPITOME 2020 was launched. This was then followed by the ceremonious lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Prof. Santhosh Rebello, Dean of IT Department, gave a welcome note to the gathering and spoke on this edition’s EPITOME theme. The theme was chosen as SPACE to celebrate India’s success in the field of Space Science. He also talked about how this two day fest is an opportunity for the students who came from across the state to showcase their talents not only in IT field but also in other fields as well and that they would go out from this campus with a new experience of achieving something that they have never done in the past.
Students welcomed the dignitaries by presenting bouquet of blossomed flowers. Ms. Riona Fernandes, student coordinator for EPITOME introduced the chief guest to the gathering.
The inauguration speech was delivered by the chief guest, Dikshith Rai, who expressed his happiness to be back at his alma mater. He talked about his days spent in St. Aloysius College and about his acquaintance with the Director of AIMIT. He stressed about grabbing opportunities that come our way and give our 100 percent to each task that we undertake. Mr. Rai focused on being a hard worker who is enthusiastic in learning new things in a field that he/she has chosen.
Later, the Director of AIMIT, Rev Fr Denzil Lobo SJ addressed the gathering. He shared incidents from the life of successful personalities and stressed on discipline being one of the important factors of success in a person’s life and called students to inculcate discipline in their lives. He shared 3 points that one has to remember –

Lifelong learning
Think about others and give back to society once you become capable.
Then we had the Rector of the St. Aloysius College, Rev. Fr. Dionysius Vas SJ addressing us. He talked about achieving happiness in one’s life. The ultimate success in a person’s life is happiness. The ways to evoke the innovative energy from within a person is:

The Chief Guest, Mr. Dikshith Rai and the President of the Ceremony, Rev. Fr. Dionysius Vas SJ were presented the mementos by Prof. Santhosh Rebello and Rev. Fr. Denzil Lobo SJ respectively.
Towards the end of the Ceremony, Mr. C.G. Thomas, faculty coordinator of EPITOME offered a vote of thanks.
The inaugural program was then concluded with the College Anthem.
The program was compeered by Ms. Nishitha Nanaiah.
More than 103 participants from around 10 colleges across the state participated in EPITOME – 2020.
