Mangalore: The Library Association and Student Council of Milagres College, Hampankatta, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a Mega Book Exhibition and Sale – “Milagres Book Quest 2025” in collaboration with Usedbookr.com. The exhibition was inaugurated on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in the College Auditorium.
The programme was presided over by V. Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth, Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions. Alwin Rosario, Management Member, was the Chief Guest, and Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, Principal and Campus Director, graced the occasion. Karthik, Executive Staff of Usedbookr.com, was also present on the dais.
In his presidential remarks, V. Rev. Fr. Bonaventure Nazareth emphasized the importance of holistic education and encouraged students to utilize such opportunities for personal growth.
Addressing the gathering, Alwin Rosario highlighted the significance of reading in today’s digital age, urging students to cultivate reading as a lifelong habit. He appreciated the efforts of Milagres College in bringing together such a vast collection of books under one roof.
The Principal, Rev. Dr. Alwin Serrao, in his message, stressed that books are not merely sources of information but companions that shape values, inspire creativity, and build character. He encouraged students to use the exhibition as an opportunity to rediscover the joy of reading beyond their academic syllabus.
The exhibition displays over 3,000 books across diverse genres, enabling students, faculty, and book lovers from across the city to explore and purchase books at affordable prices. The fair will remain open from September 16 to 21, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily in the College Auditorium.
The formal programme began with a welcome address by Glancia Fernandes. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Pramila Dsouza. The event was well-coordinated by Chethana K (IQAC Co-ordinator), Tressy Pinto, Student Council Co-ordinator, and Pramila Dsouza ,Programme Co-ordinator.
