Mangalore: To mark the 150th birthday celebration of Mahatma Gandhi,NSS Unit and Community Engagement Group of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, organized Swachatha Abhiyaan in the villages of NavoorGramaPanchayat in Bantwal Taluk. Navoor is one of the villages adopted by the institution for community services.
A total of 47 students of the NSS unit along with 7 faculty members participated in the program. GramaPanchayat officials of Navoor village extended their full cooperation to the team from SJEC in conducting this program. On this occasion a special meeting was organized by the GramaPanchayat, during whichMrAjithanjaya Kumar, Chairperson of Community Engagement Group detailed the plans and actions of the college to serve Navoor village. PDO of GramaPanchayat along with President and members of the village thanked the institution for conducting SwachathaAbhiyaanat their premises.
