Mangalore: Due to students who are aware and responsive to the environment, the Youth Red Cross unit of University College Mangalore has achieved something special during challenging times, Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai opined.
Presiding over the Kannada Rajyotsava, IRC Foundation Day celebration and First Aid Training Program organized by the Youth Red Cross Unit of the University College at Ravindra Kalabhavana here on Tuesday, he thanked the program officersfor their continuous effort and district administration for the support.
Mangaluru University Red Cross Nodal Officer Dr. Ganapathi Gowda explained the origin, nature and objectives of Red Cross. “The Red Cross provides tremendous opportunities for students at the college level. Students of Mangalore University have brought glory to the institution at the state level by utilising such opportunities," he added.
Deralkatte Yenapoya Deemed University Youth Red Cross Program Officer Nithyasree was the resource person. University College Red Cross Program Officer Dr. Kumaraswamy M welcomed the guests. Kshamya Amin mastered the ceremony, while Bhumika rendered vote of thanks.
The melodious singing of the song “Hachchevu Kannadada Deepa…” by the Youth Red Cross students attracted attention.
