Mangalore: Blood donation camp was inaugurated at the Milagres College auditorium, jointly organized by the Youth Red Cross, National Service Scheme (NSS), and Milagres Lions Club. 

The event was inaugurated by Ln. J.K. Rao, former District Governor of Lions Club Milagres. In his address, he emphasized that donating blood is a noble act and crucial for building a healthy India. He stated, “In a society filled with vibrant youth, it is essential to donate blood to ensure a healthy nation. Each drop of blood can save a life and contribute to a healthier India.”

Dr. Deepa Adiga, Director of the Blood Bank at KMC Attavar, Mangaluru, was a guest at the event. She provided insights on who is eligible to donate blood and shared precautionary measures to be followed during and after blood donation. The event was presided over by Rev. Dr. Fr Michael Santumayor, Principal of Milagres College, who offered his best wishes for the success of the program. 

Following the inauguration, students and faculty of the college participated in the blood donation drive, with a total of 113 people donating blood. Other dignitaries present included Lion Hema Sharma, President of the Lions Club Milagres, Lion Philip J. Pereira, Khatheeja  Mousoofa, Secretary of the Youth Red Cross, and Tenzil, NSS secretary. The event began with a welcome by NSS Program Officer Joel Mascarenhas. Shahida Anjum, Coordinator of the Youth Red Cross, delivered the vote of thanks, and Anusha Hegde, NSS secretary  hosted the event.
