Mangaluru: The MBA (International Business) Department of University College Mangalore, recently organized a research workshop aimed at fostering awareness about research activities among students and equipping them with essential academic research skills.

The workshop was chaired by the college principal, Prof. Ganapati Gowda S., who, in his presidential address, emphasized that research is the soul of education. He urged students to cultivate critical thinking and engage in socially relevant research.
The chief guest, Dr. Ramakrishna B.M., Head of the Economics Department at University College, elaborated on the fundamental stages of research, including topic selection, research methodology, and the importance of data analysis, providing valuable insights to the students.
Prof. Jayavanth Nayak, Advisor for Programs at University Evening College, shared his experiences, encouraging students to undertake practical research to address societal issues. He also presented on the multifaceted aspects of research methodology.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Rajesh, lecturer from the department, with support from student coordinators Sarvani and Dharmanna. Students actively participated in discussions on various research methods and their applications.
Faculty members from the MBA and M. Com departments attended the event. The program was compered by Shohan, an MBA (IB) student, with Shreya delivering the welcome address and Lavanya proposing the vote of thanks.
