Mangaluru: Irene Leena Sequeira, acting headmistress of Kelwari St. Joseph’s Aided Higher Primary School, Nanthoor, which operates under the administration of the Catholic Board of Education, Dakshina Kannada, has been honored with the State-Level Best Teacher Award for the academic year 2025–26.
The award is presented by the Karnataka State Aided Primary Teachers’ Association, Bengaluru. Sequeira received the award during the Teachers’ Day celebration held recently in Ranebennur, Haveri District.
The award was conferred in the presence of thousands of teachers from across the state, including local MLAs, education department officials, and the Deputy Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Hon. Rudrappa Lamani. The award was presented by the Honorable Minister for School Education and Literacy, Madhu Bangarappa, who commended Siqueira for her selfless and dedicated service to education.
Irene Leena Sequeira has been serving the school with unwavering commitment for several years, playing a key role in its holistic development. She is a resident of Kadri Kaibattal, and the wife of Titus Fernandes, proprietor of Ferns Services.
