Mangaluru: As part of the Karavali Utsava 2025, triathlon events will be held at Tannirbhavi Beach from January 9 to 11 in collaboration with the Tapasya Foundation. On this occasion, all departments have been instructed to cooperate and function efficiently. As many athletes will be participating in cycling and marathon events, appropriate steps must be taken to fill potholes on roads so that the participants do not face any inconvenience. Proper arrangements for street lighting should also be made, said Mangaluru Sub-Divisional Officer Meenakshi Arya.
She was speaking while presiding over a meeting of the Triathlon Committee held on Wednesday at the Assistant Commissioner’s office.
She further stated that necessary measures should be taken to ensure that athletes and artists do not face any difficulties during the event, which integrates competitive sports, rural and agricultural-technology innovations, cultural arts, youth talent platforms, and community-driven experiences.
The festival will commence on January 9 with the National Open Water Swimming Championship. The first day will include a state-level science model competition, an agricultural technology exhibition with 20–30 stalls, and beach wrestling competitions. On January 10, cycling, duathlon, beach wrestling, bike stunt shows, and dance competitions will be held. On January 11, after the Mangaluru Triathlon and marathon events, art competitions, Battle of the Bands, and a fashion show will be held, informed a representative of the Tapasya Foundation during the meeting.
Officials from various departments were present at the meeting.
