New Delhi, Dec 18: The SIT probing the Sabarimala gold theft cases on Wednesday arrested former TDB administrative officer S. Sreekumar.

His arrest comes just two weeks after the Kerala High Court rejected Sreekumar's anticipatory bail plea, which had said the charges against him were proven. Along with Sreekumar, the anticipatory bail plea of former Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) secretary S. Jayashree was also rejected.
The court, while rejecting the plea, had said that granting anticipatory bail to the two accused would undermine the entire investigation into the gold theft from the temple and render effective investigation "meaningless".
Both Sreekumar and Jayashree were aware of the gold plating. They had signed documents mentioning that the plates were made of copper, the court had said.
