Khagaria, Apr 10: Police said that a relative of JDU MLA Panna Lal Singh Patel was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Bihar's Khagaria district. The deceased, identified as Kaushal Singh, was riding a two-wheeler with his wife in Kaithi Tola area of Chautham town at night.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar said that a family dispute is suspected to be the reason for the murder. Singh, a former panchayat samiti member, was a relative of JDU MLA Panna Lal Singh Patel from Belauna
Locals said that the deceased was a party worker of the JDU district unit. According to the wife of the deceased, it is learnt that a man came and shot Singh dead from point-blank range and fled. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead, said Khagaria SP.
