Mogarnad: On the joyous occasion of its 250th Jubilee Year, Deva Matha Church, Mogarnad, organized a special celebration honoring Priests, Religious Brothers and Sisters, women who were married and moved away, and families residing outside the parish.

The program began with a Solemn Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Fr. Maxim D’Silva and several other priests. The Deanery Vicar Forane, Rev. Fr. Ivan Michael Rodrigues, delivered an inspiring homily on the Word of God.

Following the Mass, a felicitation program was held in the Church Hall. The event commenced with a prayer song presented by the Church Choir, followed by a welcome address delivered by Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Anil Canute D’Mello. The choir group also performed the Jubilee Song, adding a festive spirit to the occasion.

During the felicitation ceremony, religious sisters from the church family, sisters who had served in the church convent, priests belonging to the church family, and priests who had served in the parish were honored with mementos as a token of appreciation and gratitude.

A total of 29 priests, 39 religious sisters, and 29 families who originally belonged to Mogarnad but had settled elsewhere after marriage were present for the celebration. Their presence added great joy and meaning to the occasion.

Sr. Sadhana, Fr. Santhosh D’Cunha, and the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Ivan Michael Rodrigues, shared their heartfelt messages, offering blessings and congratulating everyone on this historic milestone.
As part of the cultural segment, the youth members of the church presented a dance and a skit, which were well received by the audience.

Jubilee Convener, Naveen Rajesh, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. The gathering concluded with a prayer before the meal, led by Fr. Simon D’Souza.

Dignitaries present included Rev. Fr. Ivan Michael Rodrigues, Rev. Fr. Anil Canute D’Mello, Principal Rev. Fr. Naveen Prakash Pinto, Rev. Fr. Lawrence Pereira, Sr. Christine Andrade, Convent Superior Sr. Annie D’Souza, Vice President Santhosh D’Souza, Secretary Wilfred Lobo, and 21 Commissions Coordinator Emiliana D’Cunha.

Also in attendance were the Jubilee Committee members, Parish Council members, and the faithful parishioners of Deva Matha Church. The program was compered by Deacon Avil Santhumayar.

The celebration beautifully reflected the parish’s unity, gratitude, and enduring faith as it marked 250 years of spiritual journey and community growth.
