Mogarnad: Couples Day to honor and appreciate married couples and their relationships. The day's events, which took place at the Deva Matha Sabha Bhavan, highlighted the importance of love, commitment, and the bond between partners.
The celebration began with a Special Holy Mass at 9:30 a.m. for all married couples. Main Celebrant was Rev. Fr. Alwyn Richard D'Souza, the Director of the Family Life Centre of Diocese if Mangalore. Rev. Fr. Anil Cannute D'Mello, Rev. Fr. Naveen Prakash Pinto, Rev. Fr. Austin Fernandes were present to celebrate the Mass.
In his homily Rev. Fr. Alwyn Richard D'Souza focused on the difficulties in marriage and ways to overcome them, emphasizing the importance of a strong bond between husband and wife. He stressed that while no family or marriage is perfect, it is essential to find balance in all situations. During the Holy Mass, couples renewed their marriage vows and were blessed with holy water.
After the Holy Mass, the Jubilee celebration continued at the Deva Matha Sabha Bhavan following the completion of all rituals. After morning refreshments, the couples gathered in the Sabha Bhavan, where Rev. Fr. Anil Cannute D'Mello delivered a welcoming address.
The Chief Guest of the event, Fr Alwyn Richard D'Souza during his address, emphasized the importance of balance and understanding within couples, particularly highlighting the significant role of women in the family. He stressed that both men and women should strive to comprehend each other and dedicate time to resolve issues. To effectively guide and grow their children, couples need to prioritize open communication, model positive behaviours, and create a strong, united front in their parenting approach. This involves fostering a supportive environment where children feel loved, respected, and encouraged to develop their full potential.
Following his address, Rev. Fr. Anil Cannute D'Mello honored him with a memento. Additionally, couples who had celebrated 50 years of marriage were recognized, and 300 other couples were also honored with best wishes mementos and couple photos.
The lucky couples of the Event game were held during this occasion. Rev. Fr. Anil D'Mello, Rev. Fr. Alwyn Richard D'Souza, Rev. Fr. Naveen Prakash Pinto, Rev.Fr. Austin Fernandes, Br. Priston D'Souza, Parish Pastoral Parishad Vice President Santhosh D'Souza, Secretary Wilfred Lobo, Co-ordinator of Commissions Emiliana D’Cunha, Devamatha Convent Sisters, and Jubilee Committee Convener Naveen Rajesh D'Cunha were present.
