Mangalore: Mohammed Ashiq has made mangalore proud by raising the award of Master Chef India 2023 in his hands. 24 year old Ashiq won the Master Chef India 2023 a prestigious cooking competition organized by Sony Live OTT platform jn Mumbai.
In the finale with dish representing the elements and taste of mangalore he had made the judges Vikas Khanna, Ranveer and Pooja to drop their spoon. This is the first time a youth from Dakshina Kannada has won this award. Mohammed Ashiq opend 'Kulki Hub' in Balmatta Mangaluru.
Commenting on the win, Mohammad Ashiq said, "I am grateful for winning the MasterChef India. After facing elimination to holding the trophy, every moment was a profound lesson. A big thank you to judges of the show Vikas, Ranveer and Pooja, and fellow contestants the audience have motivated me to perform better every day in the kitchen."
This is the first time a youth from Dakshina Kannada district has won the 'Master Chef India' award. Muhammad Ashiq, the son of Abdul Khader and Saramma from Jeppu near Mangalore. He wanted to learn hotel management. But due to poor financial condition, he stopped his education in secondary PUC. He used to prepare delicious new style food at his home for small events held at the houses of acquaintances and friends.
Muhammad Ali, a relative of Muhammad Ashiq, recognized his cooking skills and encouraged him financially. Accordingly, in his 20s, Mohammad Ashiq opened 'Kulki Hub' in Balmat of the city. Mohammed Ashiq, who was a full-fledged 'chef', participated in the 'chef' competition held in Hyderabad and Bangalore.
