New Delhi, May 9:  Vigilant security measures have been put in place at airports across the country, with some flights affected due to airspace restrictions, officials said.

Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has made screening of all flights mandatory, banned visitors from the terminal buildings of airports and increased overall security.

Flight operations at Delhi airport are normal. However, some flight schedules may be affected due to evolving airspace conditions and heightened security measures, DIAL said.

Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) operates the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital, the country's busiest airport.

Meanwhile, flight operations are normal, airline officials said. Airlines have asked passengers to reach the airport three hours before the departure of domestic flights after increased screening and other security measures at airports.

Passengers have been advised to follow all hand and check-in baggage rules and cooperate with security and airline staff for smooth facilitation. Currently, around 27 airports in different parts of the country are closed. At least 90 flights to and from Delhi airport have been cancelled.
