Bengaluru: The judges of the Karnataka High Court have promoted renowned advocate P P Hegde as a Senior Advocate of the Karnataka High Court.
Well-known as P P Hegde, Padmaprasad Hegde from Mangaluru had completed both his LLB and LLM degrees with gold medals. He has the distinction of having served as the President of the Karnataka State Bar Council at a very young age. P P Hegde has offices in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, and Delhi, and also appears in cases before the Supreme Court.
He has drawn attention for his competent advocacy in several complex cases. During his tenure as the President of the State Bar Council, he successfully led a campaign against corruption involving Lokayukta Justice Bhaskar Rao. Justices Shivaraj Patil and Santosh Hegde joined hands with the lawyers in this fight.
As President of the Karnataka State Bar Council, he also identified and suspended fake lawyers and effectively enforced the rule that legal practitioners must not engage in any other profession.
With deep knowledge of prevailing laws and the Constitution, P P Hegde has also raised public awareness through his columns and writings, earning further recognition.
