Tegucigalva: Six people have died after a plane crashed after takeoff from the island of Rotan off the coast of Honduras in Latin America, the fire chief there told local media late on Monday.
It is said that eight passengers are still inside the plane. The plane crashed into the sea shortly after take off. The island's police chief Lisampro said rescue operations were hampered as the plane fell into the sea.
The Honduran-operated JTeam plane was carrying 17 passengers, including three crew members, the country's transport minister told local radio.
The flight was bound for La Ceiba airport on the mainland of Honduras. The passengers are understood to include an American citizen, a French citizen and two minors.
