Mangaluru Nov 09: Dakshina Kannada Working Journalist Association elections were held today November 09 2025 at Vartha Ilake Pandeshwar Mangaluru.
Pushparaja BN, a senior reporter of Vartha Bharati, been elected as new President for the year 2025-2028.
Pushparaj B.N. with this 30 years of experience as journalist, Later, he held various responsibilities including executive committee member and treasurer in the D.K. Working Journalists Association.
Pushparaj won with187 votes, where Vijayavani Newsreporter Shravan Kumar Nala has recieved 144 votes.
The election process, took place from 9 am to 3 pm conducted by senior officer of DK District Information Department of Information and Public Relations, Khader Shah and his staff, and the results have been announced.
Srinivas Nayak, the immediate past president of the Journalists' Association, was elected as a member of the state executive committee.
Rajesh Poojary was elected as the general secretary and Vijaya Kotian as the treasurer unanimously. Muhammad Arif, Wilfred D'Souza and Rajesh Shetty were elected as vice presidents, and Satish Ira, Siddique Neeraje and Suresh Palli were elected as secretaries.
Ashok Shetty BN, Sandesh Jara, Sandeep Kumar M. Lakshminarayana Rao, Harish Motukana, Diwakar Padmunja, Kiran U. Sirsikar, Abhishek H.S.. Jayashree, Bhuvaneshwar G, Dr. Sandeep Wagle, Harish K. Adoor, Girish Appangaya, Sandeep Salyan, Arif Kalkatta were elected as executive committee members.
