Puttur: A pregnant woman has committed suicide by hanging herself in her house at Chikkaputtur on Sunday night.
The deceased is Reshma (28), wife of Chinthan, a leader of Puttila Parivar. The exact reason for the suicide is not known. Reshma was seven months pregnant.
She was the daughter of Jayant Gujran from Bolar, Mangaluru. Reshma and Chinthan were married four years ago and have a young daughter. At the time of her death, Reshma was seven months pregnant with their second child.
Reshma from Suratkal was given in marriage to Chinthan four years ago. The couple has a daughter and stayed in a rented accommodation. Puttur Town Police are investigating the case.
