Mangalore: The demand for higher education is increasing in India and it is lagging behind in providing quality education. Quality is not accidental. Quality needs to be ensured through systematic effort and creative learning experiments, said Gandhigram Rural Institute Deemed University, Tamil Naduretired chancellor Prof. MG Sethuraman. 

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating a university-level workshop on evaluation and ranking of higher education institutions organised by IQAC of Mangalore University in collaboration with Association of British Scholars, Mangalore on Saturday. He said that with the aim of reducing this gap between teaching and learning, NAAC assessment is being conducted and there is a need to create global level quality higher education institutions.

Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P. S. Yadapadithaya said that the National Education Policy 2020 has provided an opportunity for a radical change in the education sector. He said that it is necessary to organize educational activities through team effort and document them systematically.

Association of British Scholars Secretary Prof. KR Chandrasekhar participated as a resource person. Mangalore University Finance Officer Prof. Y Sangappa presided. IQAC Director, Program Coordinator Prof. Manjunath Pattabhi welcomed the guests. IQAC Associate Director Prof. Monika Sadananda delivered introductory remarks. Prof. Vishalakshi. B extended vote of thanks, while Dr. Preeti Keerthi D'Souza mastered the ceremony. 

Professors of Mangalore University, principals of affiliated colleges of the university and representatives of IQAC participated in the workshop.
