Puttur:  Dr. Chandrashekar K., Head of the Department of Physics at St. Philomena  (Autonomous) College, Puttur, has been elected as the President of the Association of Physics Teachers of Mangalore University.The association comprises physics teachers from undergraduate colleges under Mangalore University, covering the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Kodagu. The election took place during the association’s annual general meeting recently held at University College, Mangalore.

Dr. Chandrashekar K. obtained his Doctorate from Mangalore University for his thesis titled “Studies on Concentration of Radionuclides and Trace Elements in Some Selected Medicinal Plants.” Several of his scientific papers have been published in national and international journals by reputed publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, and Oxford University Press. Abstracts of many of his research articles are indexed in databases like Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. He also serves as a reviewer for scientific journals published by Springer, evaluating research papers.

Additionally, he serves as the Program Officer of the National Service Scheme (NSS) at St. Philomena’s (Autonomous) College.
