Mangaluru: A university-level Kannada essay competition was recently organized in memory of the late Dr K.V. Jalajakshi under the joint auspices of the Dr K.V. Jalajakshi Samsmarana  Prathishtaana and the Karavali Women Writers and Readers Association, Mangaluru (Ka. Le. Vaa. Sangha). 

The competition, open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students across Mangalore University, witnessed enthusiastic participation. Among the winners, Srividya Y.N., a first-year B.Sc. student of St Philomena (Autonomous) College, distinguished herself by securing a cash prize of Rs. 1,000 for her essay. Congratulating her on this achievement, the college principal Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro lauded her accomplishment and extended his best wishes for her future academic and literary pursuits.
