Udupi : The state government completely failed in tackling the coronavirus pandemic and maintaining law and order, said Saleem Ahmed, Working President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC).

Addressing a press meet at the Congress Bhavan, Udupi District Congress Committee office at Nayarkere, here on Sunday, September 13, Saleem Ahmed said "Since six months coronavirus pandemic spreading very fast in the state. The state government has completely failed in controlling the coronavirus pandemic. In terms of coronavirus pandemic, the state government has indulged in biggest scam. The Congress parties have alleged Rs 2,000 crore corruption in the handling of coronavirus equipment but we did not get any answer from the BJP," he said.

"The law and order situation in the state has deteriorated completely. KPCC president Saleem Ahmad complained that the DJ Halli case and the Drugs scandal created a disturbing atmosphere in the state. In relate to DG Halli riots and drugs issue, the law and order along with intelligence department have completely failed in handling the issues. Whoever it may be, the government should take action against was involved in the case." He said.

Saleem Ahmed said that "Drugs are being debated and all attempts to conceal failure are underway. The state government is immersed in trying to avoid it. Let C.T. Ravi BJP MLA should tell about the pressure from whom? You are not a CM or even a Home Minister. Congress never put pressure on you. There is government at the center as well as at state your own government, investigate it and the congress party support the investigation. Ragini the accused in drug case is a BJP activist. Those who indulged in the drug case should be punished. Only giving statements cannot make the system fair," he said.

"Flood compensation has not come up with a solution. The MPs of our state behave like a tiger here. The cat will stand in front of Modi. Learn to speak first. He said he did not spend time arguing and fleeing the interests of the state, " he said.

"The state legislative assembly session will begins on September 21, we will take up issues such as drug menace, failure of law and order situation, APMC ordinance, flood and Covid and many other issues. The opposition leader of legislative assembly Siddaramaih asked the government to extend the assembly session further," he said.

To a query on silence of JDS in relate to corruption and drug issues, he said ask him about the JDS silence on the state government's scandal and failure. Yeddyurappa let Kumaraswamy reveal his visit.

"To another query, in a central leadership there has been major surgery taken place. There has been no reshuffle for the past three years. It is a natural process and all are given opportunity. Seniors as well as juniors given chance in major surgery in the congress central committee," he said.
