Mangaluru, Nov 23:  The Department of Education, Government of Karnataka, inaugurated the State-Level Science Exhibition for the academic year 2024-25 today at Shakthi Education Trust, Shakthinagara, in collaboration with the Department. The event was held at the Reshma Memorial Auditorium and featured 210 participants, six from each of the 35 educational districts selected for the state-level competition.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. K.V. Rao, Director of the Pilikula Regional Science Center, Mangaluru. In his speech, Dr. Rao discussed the impact of the digital age on various fields, emphasizing the role of computer technology in science and encouraging students to embrace computer languages in their research. He also praised the adaptability of children in using mobile phones and other digital tools effectively.

Dr. K.V Rao urged students to engage in continuous scientific exploration, stating that regular research is crucial for global leadership in science. He commended the government's initiative in organizing such exhibitions and encouraged students to explore practical science alongside theoretical studies.

Venkatesh S. Pathegar, Deputy Director (Administration) from the Department of School Education, Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada, addressed environmental pollution challenges despite technological progress, stressing the importance of forward-thinking for the next generation.

Hemaraj, Education Assistant from Vishveshvarayya Museum, Bengaluru, spoke about the importance of preparing scientific models and experiments for understanding real-world applications.

The event was presided over by Dr. K.C. Naik, Administrator Shakthi Education Trust, who congratulated the teachers for their dedication in helping students create science models. He emphasized that such student research would play a vital role in India's global recognition in the future.

Dr. K.V. Rao, the chief guest, was honored during the event.

Other distinguished guests included Ishwar H.R., Block Education Officer for Mangaluru South, Srinivas Adiga, Lecturer at the District Institute of Education and Training, Mangaluru,  Ramesh K., Chief Advisor of Shakthi Education Trust, Shakthinagara, Mangaluru, and Venkatesha Murthy, Principal of Shakthi PU College, Shakthinagara, Mangaluru.

Rajalakshmi K., Principal and Deputy Director (Development) at the District Institute of Education and Training, Mangaluru, welcomed the guests, while Babitha Suraj, Principal of Shakthi Residential School, expressed her gratitude at the conclusion of the event.
