Surathkal: An engineering student collapsed and died of a heart attack near Krishnapur Hillside, Surathkal on Monday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Aftab (18), son of Asghar Ali, a resident of Hillside. He was studying a diploma in electrical engineering at Sacred Heart, Surathkal.
It is learnt that he collapsed and died of a heart attack at around 12 noon while going for a bath at home.
Aftab is the only son among Asghar Ali's four children, and his three daughters are married. His wife died due to Corona, leaving only the father and son living at home.
Ali, who was an auto rickshaw driver, stayed at home with his son till afternoon. It is understood that the incident took place around 1 am when they went to rent a house.
