Chikkamagaluru: A ten-wheeler tanker stood across the road at Charmadi Ghat in Mudigere taluk, causing traffic chaos for a few hours.

The tanker vehicle, which was heading from Bangalore to Mangalore, lost control at Charmadi turn and stood across the road. Due to this, traffic on the Ghat was completely stopped for more than two hours.

Later, the tanker was moved to the side and traffic was allowed on both sides on one side. This obstructed traffic on the Ghat for the entire day. Locals said that passengers were in trouble as buses did not reach on time.

Although there is a restriction on the movement of heavy vehicles on Charmadi Ghat, the problem is that the tanker was not stopped at the Kottegehara check post. Subramanya, a motorist stuck in traffic, expressed his anger by saying that heavy vehicles should not be allowed on the ghat.
