Reflection for Thursday, 14th Week of Ordinary Time

Today's Gospel Reading 

Matthew 10: 7 - 15 

If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet. 

Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for that town. 

Today's Reflection 

GOD Loves Us Truly & So Much that HE Feels Deeply Anguished at Our Human Waywardness in spite of HIS Repeated Appeals & Acts of Mercy & Forgiveness

How Touching & Sentimental are the Words of GOD'S Love through the Mouth of Hosea: 

Like a Father, Like a Mother, HE Loves HIS People, Calls Them HIS Children, Binds Them to HIMSELF with Bands of Love, Raises Them to HIS Cheeks Like an Infant, Stoops to Feed Them Like a Child. 

But Sadly HIS People Do Not Understand HIS Love & Do Not Remain Faithful to HIS Love. 

However, HE is so Merciful that HE Does Not Want to Destroy Them for Their Iniquities. 

Now JESUS is the Most Authentic Sign & Testimony of This Mission of Love. JESUS Entrusts This Mission to Us, HIS Disciples.

It is to Establish GOD'S Kingdom as HE HIMSELF Did.

This is a 2fold Mission, Namely to Preach & to Heal, & HE Empowers Us for the Same with HIS Own Power. 

In Carrying Out This Duty, One should Not Depend too much on Worldly Securities or Guarantees, Facilities, or Equipment. 

Accumulation, Greed, & Profit-Seeking are Contrary to the Very Spirit of Our Mission. 

Instead, the LORD Demands Detachment, Entrustment, & Generosity, as the Secrets of Reaping an Abundance of Harvest. 

Therefore, We Need Not Bother too much about Worldly Equipment like Gold, Silver, Copper, Bag or Tunics or Sandals, or Staff. 

We as Disciples should be Generous in Giving Our Life, Time, & All Energies, because We too Received so Generously from GOD.

Any Words & Acts that Cultivate Seeds of Disunity & Antagonism, that Lack Devotion & Goodness, are only a Counter-Mission & Counter-Productive.

Further, in Carrying Out This Mission, Working for GOD & Promoting Good Alone should be Our End Targets & Aims. 

There should be No Other Motive, even the Motive of Success. We should be Prepared even to Face Failure. 

That is why JESUS Already Warns: “if Anyone will Not Receive U or Listen to Your Words, Shake Off the Dust from Your Feet as U Leave that House or Town."

This Indicates that We must be Detached even from the Expectation of Fruits & Results. 

Sheer Focus on Mission & Dutifulness Irrespective of the Effects are Our Driving Forces.
