John: 10:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you may be also."
TODAYS REFLECTION
St Paul beautifully proclaims the wonders of the Resurrection of Jesus and the promise of blessing that is enshrined to everyone who follows Him:
“But God raised Him from the dead; and for many days, He appeared to those who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now His witnesses to the people.
And we bring you the Good News that what God promised to the fathers; this He has fulfilled to us their children, by raising Jesus!” (Acts 13:30-33)
In today's Gospel, we again hear very comforting and assuring words from the Lord Jesus.
He stressed that we need not be troubled and that we have been prepared a place in His Father's house.
The promise was made sweeter by His volunteering to accompany us and guide us through. In the end, He reminded them that He is the way, the truth, and the life.
Life is never easy. Problems, difficulties and sufferings are part of living in this imperfect world. The Lord Himself acknowledges that: “In the world, you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world” (Jn 16:33).
But He exhorts us: “Do not let your hearts be troubled.”
Leave your troubles aside. Do not let them distract and discourage you. But we may ask: How will this be possible?
Jesus gives the answer: “You have faith in God; have faith also in me.” Faith! As a quotation says, “God promised safe landing, not a calm passage. If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.”
Indeed, we need not be troubled in any way while we sojourn in this world, no matter how many and great are the obstacles and dangers we encounter – as long as we stay with Jesus.
And our journey will surely end up in the eternal joy and glory in our true home, the Father’s House.
This is what St. Paul had in mind when he said, “Who can separate us from the love of God?” Absolutely nothing!
SAINT OF THE DAY: POPE PIUS V
Since today there are no longer Catholic Kings who can support the
Counter-Revolution, on this feast day of St. Pius V, let us ask him to intercede with the Princes of Heaven, the Holy Angels so that they might come to help those few knights who fight against the enemies of the Church, so much larger in number and means.
RESOLUTION
Let’s resolve to be willing to let go a life of sin, embrace the words of the Lord and live it joyfully and fervently in our life!
HAVE A BLESSED FRIDAY
