Turkey, Nov 21: A small family of four who went to Turkey from Germany for a holiday has died. Four members of the same family have lost their lives after eating street food.

The family reportedly ate on a street near the Bosphorus Bridge in Istanbul's Ortakoy district. The woman, her husband and two young children fell ill after eating the food. The family had traveled from Germany for a holiday, People reported.

Four people were admitted to the hospital after the incident, and the children, 6-year-old Kadir and 3-year-old Masal, died. The children's mother, Sigdem Bosek, died the next day. The father, Servet Bosek, also died on Monday after spending several days in the intensive care unit.

Istanbul's regional health chief Dr. Abdullah Emre Guner shared the information on X. The entire Bosek family, who were hospitalized in Fatih after falling ill, has died. Despite receiving immediate treatment, the head of the family died. The Bosek family had traveled to Istanbul from Hamburg, Germany, on a trip on November 9.

Several people have been detained in connection with the death of four members of the same family from poisoning in Istanbul, the state-run Anadolu news agency said on Monday. The family went to the hospital on November 12. They were released the same day and went home. They died on November 13. However, many have refused to accept that the death was due to the food.

It is estimated that the deaths were caused by pesticide spraying at the hotel. The Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate and the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office are investigating, while the Forensic Medicine Institute is determining the cause of the family's deaths.
