Udupi: Barber shops’ have been shutting down shops for three days before locking down the entire country in the wake of the corona issue. Udupi District Collector G Jagdish has given conditional permission to reopen all salons in the district, said Bhaskar Bhandary, president of Savitha Samaja Organization.
Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, Bhaskar Bhandary said that Udupi donor and businessman Nadoja G. Shankar and G. Shankar family trust has donated the 2000 family of the hairdresser was in trouble during the lockdown with rice and groceries to all barbers and relatives in the district.
The state government recently announced financial assistance of Rs. 5000 / - for barbers. This amount should be given to the barbers’ through concerned department immediately.
The Udupi District Savitha Society delegation met with the district officials on May 13 and requested them to clarify the current situation. The district officials responded positively and said they would give conditional permission to reopen all the salons across the district from May 1
Conditions:
1. It is best for customers to set aside time to shave and get a haircut
2. No saloons can be put on A / c (no air conditioning),
3. The gap between the customer's hairdressers needs to be maintained by not less than two feet.
4. Salon's clothing and stores must maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
5. A mask for the face of serving customers, gloves for hands
6. The customer should wash their hands with soap after serving. And when the customer arrives, tell them to clean the hand in the sanitizer,
7. Two barbers in the shop must be served. The distance of this chair should be one meter.
8. Repeat clothes for your customers should not be repurposed for other customers. Use the clothes only after the wash.
9. As a rule of thumb, the weekly holiday is mandatory on Tuesdays.
10. The district authorities have instructed that each of the Savitha community should download Arogya Sethu app to their mobile phones.
