Mangaluru: Literary association, in association with department of Hindi of University Evening College, Mangaluru had organized “Vishwa Hindi Diwas” on Monday, 10th January 2022 at SK Hall.
Rajeshwari P. – Rajyabhasha Officer of Bank of Baroda, Mangaluru Branch was the Chief Guest of the event. She appreciated Evening College Students as they work and study simultaneously. She expressed the importance of learning regional language and spoke about the various opportunities in the field of Hindi language. She also suggested the students to inculcate the habit of reading newspapers and try to translate words from one language to another.
Dr. Subhashini Srivathsa, Principal of University Evening College, Mangalore presided over the function. She said one cannot stop usage of language, but can unite through the language. If one travels to Northern parts of our country will get the feeling of Indianism through Hindi Language. When one crosses the border of our state it is the Hindi language that becomes a tool of communication.
On this occasion Hindi poetry writing and speech competitions were held. Sharanya bagged the first place and Yashwitha bagged the second place in poetry writing,. In speech competition, N. Ganesh Acharya bagged the first place and Ashish Shetty secured the second place.
Prayer was lead by III Bcom students. Compeering was done by Sushmitha and N. Ganesh Acharya. Vaishali Salian the Programme Co-ordinator introduced the chief guest and welcomed the gathering. Vote of thanks was rendered by Liyauddin from the department of Hindi. Teaching and Non Teaching Faculty and Students were present during the programme.
