Mangalore, Sept 06: The Board of Trustees of Konkani Bhas Ani Sanskriti Prathistan deeply mourns the sad demise of Vimala V. Pai, patron of Vimala V. Pai Vishwa Konkani Sahitya Puraskar, the prestigious literary awards of World Konkani Centre. She passed away at the age of 91 years on 6th September in Bengaluru.
Vimala Pai was a teacher. As the patron of the award, she was a source of inspiration to all our activities in Konkani Language Education. Her name today is synonymous with the best of Konkani Literature as the whole Konkani World keeps the Vimala V. Pai Vishwa Konkani Sahitya Puraskars on the highest mantle.
