Weaving and other skill development training programme for twenty trainees  started at Talipady weavers society recently. This six months training program is organised by Kadike Trust Karkala with financial assistance by Nabard Karnataka. Out of 20 trainees 10 have undergone two months  basic training.  Due to the relentless work of Kadike Trust  after a gap of two decades young generation is coming back to weaving. This is phenomenal change   compared to the diminishing number of weavers in twin districts in  these years.   This will be a giant step in the revival efforts of  Kadike Trust.

Gerald Rego, Chief Manager Union Bank Kinnigoli Branch  gave detailed information to the trainees,  regarding banking, housing loan, benefits of self help group etc. Sangeetha Kartha, DDM Nabard Mangalore participated through  online. Mamatha Rai President Kadike Trust, Chikkappa Shetty Secretary Kadike Trust, Ananda Shettigar President Tailpady weavers co op society, Madhava Shettigar, MD, Talipady weavers Society , trainers shree  Sanjeeva Shettigar and Shantha Shettigar were present on the occasion.
