Mogarnad: Youth Day on August 31, 2025, as part of its 250th Jubilee Anniversary. Youths aged 17 to 28 actively participated in the event, along with members of the St. John Paul Varado II ICYM unit in a spirit of collaboration.

The program began with registration and breakfast, followed by a stage event. Rev. Fr. Anil Canute D’Mello, Parish Priest of Mogarnad, welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Ivan Michael Rodrigues then addressed the youth, reminding them that the talents given by God must be used wisely, as their future rests in their own hands. He emphasized that these gifts should be channeled into good works for the Church, society, and family, since youth are the true pillars of all three.

After the address by the youth presidents, the program was handed over to the chief guest, Rev. Fr. Ashwin Lohith Cardoza, Director of the ICYM Diocese Unit. He conducted engaging group activities, training the youth on leadership and guiding them on how to contribute meaningfully to society.

A special Mass dedicated to the youth was celebrated. Following lunch, a competition titled “Yeya Hasuya” was held among different youth zones.

Priston D’Souza, church Vice President Santhosh D’Souza, Church Secretary Wilfred Lobo, Commission Coordinator Emiliana D’Cunha, Sr. Annie, Head of Deva Matha Convent, Naveen Rajesh D’Cunha, Jubilee Committee Convener, Jaison D’Souza, St. John Paul Deanery ICYM Representative, Dilroy Mascarenhas, Deanery President, Prashanth Louis, Deva Matha Youth Animator, Melroy D’Souza, Unit President, All committee members and in-charges were also present.

Melvita Cristal Perera served as the Master of Ceremonies, while Delisha Lobo delivered the Vote of Thanks. The program concluded with a prayer service conducted by the ICYM Mogarnad unit.
