Hospet, Feb 09: The countdown has begun to commemorate the glory of the Vijayanagara Empire at the world-famous Hampi festival. Arrangements have been made for people of all classes to participate enthusiastically in the festival and watch different and diverse programs. This time, the history of Hampi will be depicted in modern technology at the main stage of the Hampi festival. A drone show on the monuments of Hampi will be organized from Feb 13 to 15 at 7 pm every day at the M.P. Prakash Vedike.

The drone show will be a reminder of the glory of the Vijayanagara Empire in the sky. The drone show will be very attractive with the use of one thousand state-of-the-art drones.
Drones will not only play a light show in the darkness of Hampi, but will also create a light show of a monument of Hampi in Banangala, surprising the audience.
In the one thousand drone show, the stone temple of Hampi, the Rajagopura of Virupaksheshwara Swamy Temple, Ugranarasimha, Kamal Mahal, Sasive Kalu Ganapati, Kadale Kalu Ganesh, Mahanavami Dibba, Saptaswara Mantapa of Vijayavitthal Temple and the images of important kings like Sri Krishnadevaraya, Hakka-Bukkara and other monuments of Hampi will be displayed in the drone show, creating light shows in the sky and surprising the audience.
The drone show has already been exhibited in Mysore Dasara and attracted people. Now the same drone show will be displayed at night for three days during the Hampi festival. Two helicopter services of Hampi by Sky are being started to see the monuments of Hampi from the sky during the day. This service is being started from Feb. 12 itself. It will be held at the Mayura Bhavneshwari premises in Kamalapur till Feb. 15.
The beauty of Hampi can be seen from the sky in a 7-minute flight, including the helicopter take-off and landing time.
Details of various programs
15 sculptors are preparing their works of art with their hands in the sculpture camp in front of the Hampi Grama. The sculptures prepared in the festival camp are being put on display. A painting camp will be held at Matanga Parvata Maidan today at 5 pm.
A bike rally to promote the Hampi festival will be held on Feb. 10 at 8 am from the District Collector’s Office and will travel along the main road of Hospet to the Sri Virupaksheshwar Temple in Hampi. The Tunga Aarti Mahotsava, a special worship of the Tungabhadra River flowing in Hampi, will be held on the banks of the Tunga River near the Virupaksheshwara Temple on Feb. 11 at 6 pm. On Feb. 12 at 3 pm, the Vijayanagar Vasant Vaibhav will be held from the Ratha Street of the Vadakaraya Temple in Hospet to Puneeth Rajkumar Circle.
A rangoli competition will be held on the premises of the Virukshewara Temple at 10 am on Feb. 13. A bull exhibition will be held for farmers in the premises behind the Hampi Authority office in Kamalapur. A fish fair will be held in front of the Hampi Grama. A food fair, fruit and flower exhibition, agriculture, handicrafts, industry, book exhibition, and a film festival will be held.
