Bangalore: Bamul President DK Suresh has announced that milk producers will be given an incentive of Rs 1 per liter in the year 2025-26. Through this, the government will get Rs 5. The incentive money will be given along with the assistance money. This is said to be a gift to dairy farmers for the Ugadi festival.



Bamul President DK Suresh shared information about this at his office in Dairy Circle on Thursday. In the year 2025-26, Bamul did a turnover of Rs 3400 crore, and the company, which was in a loss of Rs 14.50 crore, has made a profit of Rs 60 crore this year. In this context, milk producers are being given incentive money,” he said.
59 crore additional money
” For the first time in the history of our union, we have decided to give them an additional Rs 59,39,78,492 as Rs 1 per liter. Our board of directors has taken this decision as a gift for Ugadi festival, and the money will be deposited in their accounts by March 31 or April 10,” he said.
“Last year, we had a turnover of Rs 2900 crore, and this year we are expecting a turnover of Rs 3,400 crore by March 31. Our administrative expenses have increased. We have 880 permanent staff and 1800 contract workers. Rs 15-16 crore per month. We need personnel expenses. In such a situation, our board of directors has the responsibility to make a lot of changes and improvements in administrative and marketing matters. Farmers and workers are expecting changes after I became the president of Bamul. I don’t know what I have done, but there are expectations on me. While working accordingly, the cooperation of the directors and staff is required. With their cooperation, it has reached a stage where the turnover has increased by Rs 500 crore this year,” he said.
1800 contract workers to get Rs 5,000 bonus
In view of the profit our organization has made, we have decided to give the outstanding DA of Rs 4.68 crore to the workers. We have made the staff who have not been permanent for 3 years permanent. We have decided to give a bonus of Rs 5,000 each to the contract workers who are giving us strength, he said.
A2 Milk Ghee to be launched soon
When asked about the controversy over Sudharani being made the ambassador of the product, he said, “Desi milk (A2 Milk) product is being introduced only by our union, and we have spoken to Sudharani as its ambassador. Our management board has taken the decision under our union. We will soon release A2 ghee in the market,” he said.
How much will farmers get per litre?
District milk unions pay around Rs 32 to 34 per litre depending on the quality of milk. This varies by Rs 1-2 from district to district. The state government directly deposits an incentive of Rs 5 per litre of milk into the bank account of the farmers. If both the base price and the government incentive are added, the farmers get around Rs 37 to 39 per litre.
