Mangaluru, April 13: FMCI Graduation Days 2026 at Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), bringing together key members of the management, academic leadership, and media fraternity.




The press briefing held today April 13, 2026, it was led by Rev. Fr. Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI, in the presence of distinguished members of the Management Committee, including Rev. Dr Michael Santhumayor, Administrator – FMMC, FMCOAHS & FMCOP; Rev. Fr Sylvester Vincent Lobo, Administrator – FMHT, FMNC & FMAHSC; Rev. Fr Nelson Dheeraj Pais, Administrator, FMHPD, Deralakatte; Rev. Fr Donald Nilesh Crasta, Administrator, FMHMC & H; Dr Antony Sylvan D’Souza, Dean, FMMC; Dr Shivashankara A.R., Principal, FMCOAHS; Prof. Cherishma D’Silva, Principal, FMCOP; Sr Dhanya Devasia, Principal, FMCON & FMSON; Prof. Cynthia Santhmayor, Principal, FMC (Speech & Hearing); Dr ESJ Prabhu Kiran, Principal, FMHMC, Deralakatte; Dr Satish S., Principal, FMCOPS, Deralakatte; and Dr Pauline Anand, Principal, FMAHSC, Thumbay.
Addressing the media, Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo highlighted that the Graduation Day celebrations at FMCI are not merely ceremonial milestones but a reflection of the institution’s enduring legacy of academic excellence and value-based education. He emphasized that this year marks a significant and meaningful departure from tradition, as the institution has chosen to forgo the customary mortarboard or Oxford cap. Instead, graduates will don specially designed sashes representing their respective colleges and will be awarded framed certificates during the bestowing ceremony, adding a personal and distinctive touch to the occasion.
He further elaborated on the institution’s commitment to recognizing merit through prestigious honours such as the President’s Gold Medal and numerous Institutional Awards instituted in memory of past Directors, Administrators, Priests, Deans, Principals, faculty, staff, students, and benefactors. These awards acknowledge academic excellence, research achievements, and overall student performance across disciplines.
A thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration will be held on April 16 at St Joseph Chapel, with Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore and President of FMCI, as the main celebrant. Bishop Saldanha will also preside over the Graduation Days on April 16 and 17, while Most Rev. Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop Emeritus of Bangalore, will preside over the ceremony on April 18, 2026.
Graduation Schedule and Highlights
The Director outlined the schedule of the three-day graduation ceremonies:
April 16, 2026 (Thursday), 10:00 AM
36th Graduation Day – Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College
Chief Guests:
• Dr. Tarakeshwar Jain, Chairman, National Commission for Homoeopathy, New Delhi
• Dr. K. S. Gangadhar Somayaji, Vice Chancellor, Yenepoya Deemed to be University
A total of 111 graduates, including 19 postgraduates, will receive their degrees. The ceremony will feature the President’s Gold Medal and several honours, including Award of Excellence (UG), Best Outgoing PG, Best Student Researcher Award, RGUHS Gold Medal, 4 University ranks in UG, 12 in PG, MD Quality Dissertation Award 2026, along with 8 institutional subject prizes and 17 subject-wise awards.
April 17, 2026 (Friday), 3:00 PM
Graduation Day – Medical, Allied Health & Physiotherapy Colleges
(BPT – 28th, MPT – 19th, Allied – 29th, MBBS – 22nd)
Chief Guests:
• Sharanprakash R. Patil, Hon’ble Minister of Medical Education & Skill Development, Government of Karnataka
• Prof. Dr. Airani Mohammad Khan, Vice Chancellor, Karnataka University, Dharwad
A total of 518 graduates will be conferred degrees. The President’s Gold Medal for the MBBS programme and various institutional awards recognizing academic and research excellence will be presented.
April 18, 2026 (Saturday), 3:00 PM
Graduation Day – College & School of Nursing and College of Speech & Hearing
Chief Guests:
• Dr. Venkataraja Aithal, Associate Dean, MAHE, Manipal
• Dr. Asha P. Shetty, Principal, College of Nursing, AIIMS Bhubaneswar
The Nursing programmes will graduate 177 students across B.Sc Nursing (35th batch), PB B.Sc Nursing (34th), M.Sc Nursing (31st), and GNM (65th), with 12 institutional awards for the College of Nursing, 5 awards for the School of Nursing, and 5 university ranks.
The College of Speech & Hearing will graduate students from B.ASLP (30 students), M.Sc Audiology (9 students), and M.Sc Speech-Language Pathology (11 students), with a total of 14 institutional awards for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Concluding the briefing, the FMCI leadership extended a warm invitation to the press and media to be part of the Graduation Days and to share the institution’s achievements and service-oriented vision with the wider community.
Elias Fernandes, Proprietor of Fourwinds Communications, conveyed his best wishes for the success of the Graduation ceremonies and played a key role in coordinating and facilitating the presence of media representatives.
