Middle East War: The Israeli Defense Forces said on Monday that they had destroyed the plane used by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to the Israeli military, the plane was destroyed in an overnight strike at Iran’s Mehrabad International Airport. Israel said the plane was used by senior Iranian officials and military leaders for domestic and international travel. It was also used to coordinate with allied countries.
Mehrabad Airport is one of Iran’s oldest airports and now mainly serves domestic and regional flights. It is the country’s busiest civilian domestic airport and is also a dual-use facility with military air force assets.
