Bengaluru: A massive road collapse occurred near Attibele on Wednesday on National Highway 44 between Bengaluru and Hosur, completely disrupting vehicular traffic.
A sudden road collapse occurred in the Attibele and Suryanagar police station limits, and motorists are facing severe hardship after the incident. The incident occurred during peak hour, causing a huge traffic jam.
Incident during construction
The ongoing road expansion and NHAI projects are said to be the cause of the incident, and the road collapse is said to have occurred due to unstable soil and heavy machinery.
Emergency repair work during traffic congestion
The public has expressed strong anger against NHAI officials who are carrying out work during peak hours. Barriers and fillers are being erected using cranes during traffic congestion.
