Terrorist who plotted to attack Ram temple in Ayodhya killed in jail

Faridabad, Feb 10: Terrorist Abdul Rehman, who was arrested on charges of plotting to attack Ram temple in Ayodhya, was killed in Faridabad jail.

It was learned early today that terrorist Abdul Rehman was killed by a fellow inmate inside the jail.

Terrorist Abdul Rehman and fellow inmate Arun Chaudhary had a fight on Sunday. The fight turned violent and Arun Chaudhary hit him on the head with a sharp object at around 8 pm.

Rehman, who was seriously injured during this, was taken to the district hospital. The doctors who conducted the examination declared Rehman dead.

Who is Abdul Rehman?

Abdul Rehman was arrested in a joint operation by the Gujarat ATS and the Haryana Special Task Force (STF) in March last year. He was arrested on charges of planning a terror attack on the Ram temple.

During his arrest, two grenades were found in his possession, which were defused by experts. Investigators said that he had obtained these explosives from terrorists with links to Pakistan’s ISI.

During the investigation, photos, videos of the Ram temple and digital documents containing instructions to carry out the attack were found.

Investigation revealed that Abdul Rehman was living in Faridabad with a fake identity card and was working as an auto-rickshaw driver to avoid suspicion.

Investigators said that he was given the responsibility of secretly collecting information about the Ram temple and important administrative buildings in Uttar Pradesh. The jail authorities and the police are continuing to investigate the incident.
