Anekal, July 26: 1 male and 3 female elephants from Bannerghatta Biological Park have been successfully airlifted to Japan.
They were airlifted to Japan from Bengaluru International Airport by a Qatar Airways cargo flight. The elephants were kept in cages on the flight. The cargo flight landed at Osaka Kanlai International Airport in Japan. From there, the elephants were airlifted to Himeji Central Park by truck.
1 male and 3 female elephants from Bannerghatta Biological Park, namely Suresh (8), Gauri (9), Shruti (7) and Tulsi (5), have left for Japan. The staff of Bannerghatta Biological Park have also left with the elephants. He will train the park staff there.
In return for these elephants, it has been decided to bring 4 cheetahs, 4 jaguars, 4 pumas, 3 chimpanzees and 8 capuchin monkeys. This is the first international exchange of animals in the history of the Bannerghatta Biological Park.
