Belagavi : 26 july Sunday, 3 medical personnel sustained burns after an oxygen cylinder exploded at the emergency unit of Belagavi institute of Medical science (BIMS) A major accident was averted as the cylinder was immediately shifted outside the hospital.
The injured include an internee doctor, a nursing officer and a ward boy.The ward boy told media persons that the fire erupted when he attempted to operate the Oxygen cylinder.
BIMS medical Director, Dr Vinay Dastikoppa told DH that the gas leaked since the valve fell down while changing the cylinder.
Dr Dastikoppa said the injuries to medical workers were minor and there was no cause and concern.
