Mangalore: The Department of History, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in association with Mangalore University History Teachers’ Association (MANUSHA), a virtual two-day Faculty Development Program was organised, recently.

Resource Person, Kalyanpur Milagris College History Associate Professor Dr.Jayarama Shettigar delivered lectures on ‘Tourism path to modernity’ and ‘Changing role of museum in sustainable development of tourism’. He said, “Now we are destroying cultural traces for various reasons. This may strengthen us financially, but it will shrink us culturally, “he warned.

Principal Dr. Anasuya Rai said that tourism is the second largest forex earner in India. This will enhance international relations along with national integration.

History Department Associate Professor Dr. Kumaraswamy M mastered the program, while the HoD C. Rajeshwari, Dr. N Jayaraj, Dr. Meenakshi, IQAC Coordinator Dr. Suresh and others cooperated for the success of the event.
