New Delhi: Four most wanted gangsters of Sigma Gang were killed in a police encounter in Delhi's Rohini in the early hours of the morning.

A gunfight broke out between teams of Delhi and Bihar Police and gangsters in northwest Delhi at 2.20 am.

The encounter took place when the police tried to stop the gang members. When the gangsters opened fire on the police, they also retaliated. All four accused suffered bullet injuries and were admitted to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini, where doctors declared all four dead.
The gangsters have been identified as Ranjan Pathak (25 years), Bimlesh Mahto (25 years), Manish Pathak (33 years) and Aman Thakur (21 years). Ranjan Pathak was their leader. The Sigma gang was involved in extortion and contract killings across Bihar.
Delhi Police sources confirmed that the four men were wanted by the police in several heinous crimes in Bihar, including murder, extortion and organised crime activities. A reward of Rs 25,000 was announced for those who caught Pathak.
Pathak was wanted in eight criminal cases, including five major murders in Sitamarhi and adjoining districts of Bihar. A Delhi Police source revealed that Pathak had been openly challenging the police through social media and audio messages.
A recently discovered audio clip is said to have revealed details of a major conspiracy being hatched by the gang ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar.
