Mangaluru, July 11: Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College (FMHMC), a premier institution under the Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI), is all set to mark its Ruby Jubilee Finale on July 14, 2025 at the Father Muller Convention Centre, Kankanady. The event commemorates 40 years of excellence in homoeopathic medical education and service to society.
The grand celebration will begin with a thanksgiving mass at 7:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel, Deralakatte, with Most Rev. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore and President of FMCI, as the chief celebrant.
The formal ceremony, scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., will be presided over by Bishop Peter Paul Saldanha. The Chief Guests for the evening include Most Rev. Dr Bernard Moras, Archbishop Emeritus and Apostolic Administrator of Mysore Diocese, and Dr K M Dhawale, Chairman of Dr M L Dhawale Memorial Trust, Mumbai. Rev. Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, Former Director of FMCI, will grace the occasion as Guest of Honour.
The Ruby Jubilee Finale will include felicitations honoring former Directors, Administrators, Principals, Vice Principals, Medical Superintendents, and long-serving faculty and non-teaching staff who have contributed over 25 years to the institution. A souvenir marking the 40-year journey of FMHMC will be unveiled, and cultural performances by staff and students will add colour to the evening.
A notable highlight of the celebration is the launch of the Ruby Jubilee Student Welfare Scholarship Fund, initiated by the Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA), to support deserving students with financial constraints.
As part of the Jubilee events, the Dr M L Dhawale Memorial Oration and POTENTIA 2025, a national-level paper and poster presentation competition, will be held on July 13 and 14 at the Father Muller Auditorium, Deralakatte. The oration honours the legacy of Late Dr M L Dhawale, a founding stalwart of the institution.
The research awards to be presented include:
Muller Young Researcher Award (best student researcher)
Muller’s Excellent Researcher Award (best postgraduate researcher)
Muller’s Researcher of the Year Award (best faculty researcher)
The valedictory of these academic events will be presided over by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, FMCI, with Rev. Fr Ajith Menezes, Administrator of FMMC, as Chief Guest. Dr K M Dhawale and Dr Anand Kapse from the Dr M L Dhawale Memorial Trust, Mumbai, will be the Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker respectively.
